ARTICOLO:
The British Retail Consortium – BRC has published some clarifications to three important standards that mainly concern the assessment of the risks regarding food fraud and food defence, so continuing to benchmark with the GFSI Standard.
In the “F704: Auditing expectations for the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety issue” 7, there is a documented assessment of safety measures and potential risks from intentional damage or contamination as well as an assessment of adulteration or counterfeiting of raw materials.
With the document “P552: Position Statement – Clarification on ‘food defense’ and ‘food fraud’ in the Packaging Standard” in this case too, the management of risks related to “food defense” and “food fraud” is enhanced; provides that packaging manufacturers adopt a risk management plan identified with possible corrective actions.
The same principles are expressed in the “SD307: Food Defense / Site Security Position Statement” related to the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution Issue 3.
